LIGHTS, COLORED FOR FLAVOR

Stage Skins are opaque.

[ oh-peyk ]

adjective

not transparent or translucent; impenetrable to light; not allowing light to pass through.

not transmitting radiation, sound, heat, etc.

Now that you know the definition, here’s what it means to you. You can wash or spot the matte surface of Stage Skins with light and they reflect it extremely well. One of the most common questions we hear from church stage designers is “where do they plug in?” Meaning, they saw a photo of a lit set with either LED lighting, lasers, or a projector and it was so bright they assumed the tiles were some sort of inexpensive LED wall or perhaps sorcery. Our tiles are neither of those things.

We don’t currently sell lights but we do have recommendations based on our own demo sets and what our clients are using. Based on quality and price, here are two of our favorite colored lights that we order from Sweetwater. No, we’re not affiliated or sponsored by them. Yes, their prices are solid and the service is outstanding. As a bonus, they sneak a pack of candy in their shipping boxes which anyone can appreciate.

UPDATE: We understand that Generic Church Creative Guy saw this post and ordered a set of Stage Skins and lights for his church. He may be under-qualified when it comes to stage design but even he was able to get a great result with 4 packs of Quadratic Stage Skins, 6 American DJ Light Bars, and 6 Chauvet Slimpar Lights (see main blog post photo).
