DON'T MATTER IF IT'S BLACK OR WHITE

The king of pop said it best. That may be a tad out of context but here’s why we agree with MJ. We offer stage skins and connectors in black or white to give you options. The figure below shows every possible combination of wall color, tile color, connector color, and face or rear mounted connectors.

Option 1 (most common): White tiles with black connectors

Here’s how to use it: Build your Stage Skins wall at least a foot away from the back wall of your stage. Now you have space for shadow so that the black connectors blend right in, giving you the effect that the tiles are floating. That also leaves space to backlight, especially with haze, for a super modern look with tons of colored light opportunities.

Option 2: White tiles with white connectors

This is the ultimate clean, geometric look. Since Stage Skins are completely opaque so this is a great option if you’re going to project images onto the panels. Also good for making a space bright and European-looking, like modern art in a box.

Option 3: Black tiles with black connectors

Black absorbs light so this is a great option when a space needs to be dramatic but muted. Think about a lobby, reception area, trade show wall, or anywhere that could use a cool look without stealing the show.

Option 4: Black tiles with white connectors

This is a sneaky one, we didn’t really know what to think until we tried it in our own proving grounds. On a white wall with normal, ambient light, this looks dope. Check out the thumbnail of this blog to see what we’re talking about. This one looks so cool on it’s own that you need almost no creativity to make something amazing in just about any space. Are you a YouTube creator? This is the perfect backdrop for you to merk some noobs or slay the Ender Dragon while yelling at your screen!

Front vs. Back Connected

Now that you have an idea how to configure the tile/connector colors, multiply those options by 2 as you can face or rear mount the connectors to create a whole new set of options. Back mounted connectors are clean and simple and create the optical illusion that the tiles are floating. Face mounted connectors make the space look a bit more engaged, a bit less passive.

Modular Design

We know that budgets always effect the number of times a stage or set can be changed which is why we made the install and configuration so simple. Buy a few packs of different colors and you can mix and match in the future to create totally different moods and feels with the same pieces. You’re only limited by your imagination!
